In these economic times, people would rather buy the ENTIRE story in one shot then buy installments; especially knowing how the 'Brick and Mortar' stores like to jack up the price on that issue you missed! (unless you're lucky to get a 'variant issue'... I'm trying to pay variant bills! I don't have the time to hang out waiting for the UPS truck on new comic day!)
Manga sells the OGN/Book format at a standard rate of 1.5 to 2 million WEEKLY, at a standard price of 10 bucks (380 pages ARE standard!!!) Meanwhile, we're sweating out the next issue of SPIDERMAN at 24 pages (maybe 26 if Marvel allows the artist the additional room) for $4 bucks a MONTH?! --- Good Lord Joe!!! What are you talking about?!?!!

Career management means nothing if you're not prepared to take charge of it yourself... That's the everyday mantra of an Independent Artist... I'm not saying we shouldn't do brochures, but if they are some of us out here who KNOW what have will do well in that OGN market, then please stand aside and let us go with God.

-This message is brought to by those who're waiting to buy the trade.RodBuddahnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8186250176674135232.post-63376520539964903022009-12-17T11:08:50.994-05:002009-12-17T11:08:50.994-05:00Ha, I love your running commentary on his comments...Ha, I love your running commentary on his comments. So true!

Its funny because I'm much more likely to buy a graphic novel that collects a series of comics into one work than buying each individual comic. Still, the quality has to be there for me to want it in the first place.

I'm glad my heroes are guys like Doug Tennapel, guys who just do it.Brian Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16074920159586268838noreply@blogger.com
